Limited Companies

Limited Companies are a much different animal to Sole Traders/Partnerships. Company Law regulates and controls what an incorporated business can and cannot do. Also, unlike Sole Traders or Partnerships, there is protection against debt failure in that limited liability means just that. The Creditors claims are against the company (which has the same legal status as a person!) and not you, the Director.

Banks and other financial institutions may ask you, the Director/s, for a personal guarantee if you borrow money from them.
